Proverbs 22
22:1 "A good name is to be more desired than great wealth, Favor is better than silver and gold." Notice it doesn't say popularity, but a "good name." It is not so much making sure people think well of you, but doing well so that you are associated with integrity. A good name, once lost, is rarely recovered.
22:3 " The prudent sees the evil and hides himself, But the naive go on, and are punished for it." The prudent not only see evil and turn away so as to not go to evil, but the prudent hide from evil. Evil comes looking for all of us. Are our spiritual eyes open enough to see the signs of evil as it approaches, or are we so busy doing our own thing that we don't even notice that we are being pursued by the Enemy of our souls, subtly seducing us into compromise?
Lord, may my name be associated with integrity, not for my glory, but for yours. May I pursue your righteousness and godliness and hide from every evil thing.

Pro 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go, Even when he is old he will not depart from it...
This is one of the greatest challenges for todays parents. I don't have all the answers but I do know that proper adult supervision, accountability
and a life ingrained with our Lord Jesus Christ gives our children the best chance for living Godly lives.
Pro 22:7 The rich rules over the poor, And the borrower {becomes} the lender's slave...
Even when loan conditions are favorable we are still slaves to the real owner. I know I always feel much better when a debt is paid off. At work we borrow time from each other and if I have someone work for me first I must make myself available to them whenever they call because I owe them!
Pro 22:17 Incline your ear and hear the words of the wise, And apply your mind to my knowledge...
Another verse telling us how much God wants us tap into his wisdom & knowledge. If we read His Word and pray for the Holy Spirit to speak to us we will gain this wisdom.
